It’s cold…damn cold!

So these mild Winters of the last 7+ years have really spoiled us. Then again we were in a drought so I guess we should feel blessed. However I can’t enjoy ANY of this weather. I will admit some hot dogging in the Audi around corners and so forth, but I can’t ski, and I can’t use the snow blower oh and I can’t drive the Scout so no snow bashing.

As you can see I am quite miserable. I would rather it be 70 like Winters past so I don’t shiver and suffer without having some fun. I guess then you could argue that I also can’t ride the BMW so then I would be bitching about that.

One good thing…Josh and Eden will be in town this weekend. We are having brunch with them and Mr and Mrs The Bear…oh and little The Bear too! It will be good to see them and maybe even get a little bit drunk.

Last night I went to the Rio to meet up with the RMCB5 crew. It was a great time, I was glad to see most folks that said they were coming braved the snow and cold to come out and share some laughs and drinks. I ingested two FULL margaritas…gave me quote a buzz.

So here’s the thing about weekends

not only are they not long enough, I need to have about 3,000 of them in a row to be happy. Unfortunately I can’t change the calendar, and I can’t travel in time, so I am just screwed.

At least this was a good weekend, I got out and did something active for the first time in a long time. Saturday we went up to Genesee park and took Kona Bob. I took a couple pictures and will post them when I find the time to do it (hopefully tonight).

We didn’t venture far because the snow was deep and well I just don’t have the energy. The dog had fun and it wore that little guy out, which was the goal. He had a good time, we had a good time, so that means it was all good.

Sunday was nice as well, celebrated my Step-mom’s birthday so I got to see my parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews. The kids make me feel old, but crack me up with their stories.

I also went to a Audi/VW get together for a little bit on Sunday, was nice to be out with some enthusiasts, but again, I felt old, a bunch of kids, but at least they share a love of cars so it was good to see the community change a little.

Sorry my posts are so lame lately, I do have a good rant…hmmm…I think it deserves it’s own post.

A little about me, a little about other things.

So I went to my doctor at National Jewish the other day to get a follow up and x-rays to make sure I am progressing good. As it turns out things look really good all things considered. However, I found myself facing some hard truths. It will probably be a full year before I am truly 100% again. I also found that they broke a rib or two for the surgery and I don’t recall them telling me that. I am not mad, but it at least explains why I am so f’n sore all the time.

Now onto other things, the city of Centennial FINALLY..I MEAN FINALLY got it together and started plowing our street removing snow from as far back as December 20, 2006. I know it’s hard with budgets and all but since the Governor declared the state a disaster they have access to emergency funds. So for about 2.5 hours last night they plowed our street. It was neat to watch them work through the snow and ice. While their efforts were good, I found the really nasty ruts towards the end of the street were still…nasty. They were probably okay for most vehicles, but my lowered Audi would have nothing to do with it so I had to kind of straddle the ruts to get down the road. Of course others have done the same thing so there are now ruts forming around the original ruts. Fortunately it is in the 40’s - 50’s this week so with the plowing that was done most of this should be gone by this weekend.

I guess that’s it for now…

I got another Audi

Again, some old news, but my health crisis of late November and December kind of slowed my blog posting down. I went with something older and rare, collectible in terms, but not a collectors status. It is also very fast.

1992 Audi urS4. This car was the shiznit back in the day and still has a popular following. It was a $44K car when it came out which for 1992 was a lot of freaking money. It still has the Audi phone in it, it isn’t powered, but a neat little stock novelty to leave in place. Here are some pictures of the car from the previous owner, it is pretty well modified:

Where did my weekend go?

Wrapping a lot of details into one post, bear with me and try to keep up.

I hate school, I am too old for it. I guess it’s my own fault for being such a slacker. Just need to stay focused on that light down there at the end of the tunnel.

This weekend I finished a project, took an exam, wrote a paper, completed a homework assignment and started anotehr project (that is due tomorrow!).

I am slighly getting my ass kicked by all this work, I forgot how much work it is to go full time not to mention work full time in the process.

I did watch a few movies last week, I watched A Million to Juan (for one fo my classes) and Tootsie. Renee really wanted to see Tootsie so I Netflixed it. I will write up some reviews soon. In fact my paper I wrote this weekend was on A Million to Juan so maybe I will just post that!

I also changed the oil on the BMW, or maybe it would be better to say, I got oil all over the f’n place then refilled the bike. It was not a pretty process for my first attempt on this bike. I did learn a lot though. I should be less messy about it the next time I do it. I still need to change the air filter, but after my oil change fiasco I decided to hold off until next weekend.

After dropping of my project and taking my exam on Saturday I need some time to unwind. Spent some time vegging out in the backyard with the dog and Elvis too! Decided to snap some pics of the furrballs. Here are a few selections. Click on the photos to view the rest of them in their albums.
