More than a feelin’

An often played tune at many a house party over the years. This quintessential track from Boston’s self titled album brought on applause from many a drunk party goer witnessing the dawn of the powerhouse air band that resided at Jim’s house.

While there are many fond memories, and accusations that Scrubs ripped us off, today we must take a moment of silence to remember Brad Delp who passed away. Delp was the singer for Boston and as we shouted the lyrics to More than a Feeling at such a level that you could no longer hear Delp sing it, without his addictive vocals we would never have been brazen enough to attempt to air perform the song.

I think it would be hard for us to get the air band back together in a way to perform a proper tribute. The reasons for this include the need to consumer massive quantities of alcohol, combined with the need to have unwilling spectators witness the performance.

Those of you that have been fortunate enough to witness these performances at the house parties or at Chad n Wendi’s wedding (I have never seen so many terrified faces in my life) understand what a great loss this is to myself and the other performing members of the now defunct air band.

I will leave you with some pictured from those performances, tonight I will enjoy a Coors and pour one out in honor of Brad Delp. RIP brother.

It’s cold…damn cold!

So these mild Winters of the last 7+ years have really spoiled us. Then again we were in a drought so I guess we should feel blessed. However I can’t enjoy ANY of this weather. I will admit some hot dogging in the Audi around corners and so forth, but I can’t ski, and I can’t use the snow blower oh and I can’t drive the Scout so no snow bashing.

As you can see I am quite miserable. I would rather it be 70 like Winters past so I don’t shiver and suffer without having some fun. I guess then you could argue that I also can’t ride the BMW so then I would be bitching about that.

One good thing…Josh and Eden will be in town this weekend. We are having brunch with them and Mr and Mrs The Bear…oh and little The Bear too! It will be good to see them and maybe even get a little bit drunk.

Last night I went to the Rio to meet up with the RMCB5 crew. It was a great time, I was glad to see most folks that said they were coming braved the snow and cold to come out and share some laughs and drinks. I ingested two FULL margaritas…gave me quote a buzz.

Joe is a daredevil!

So our pal Gilbs was on a work adventure last week and they had to use snowmobile’s to get to their destination. While evading some insurgent squirrels Joe found himself in quite the predicament and there was only one way out…to jump the snowmobile! However as Joe made his escape the little furry ones detonated an explosion just as Joe took off!

It’s coming…

the Ski Season is near! Yes A-Basin and Loveland are already open, but I am never in shape or really enjoy skiing this early. I usually wait until December, but they are gettina ot of snow so maybe I will venture up in the coming weeks.

We got passes to Copper Mountain this year. I haven’t skied in 3 God damn years because of health stuff. So I said no more! I must ski! Screw those doctors what do they know anyway.

I just can’t be crazy for awhile, still I can’t wait. I should have some more news on the health front soon, within a few weeks at most it appears so stay tuned.

Here is something to keep you wondering why you are at work today…

Guy’s Weekend

Well for our First Annual (hey the last two were bachelor parties) Guy’s weekend I would have to say it was a success. I know the title sounds a little ghey, but it was really for all the married and otherwise committed friends to get away for the weekend and get wasted.

There were only six of us, the folks that couldn’t make it. Well you guys were missed for sure, but that just meant more Coors for me.

A few of us started off Friday night trying to do the Century Club. For the uneducated, the century club is where you drink a shot (1oz) of beer ever minute for 100 minutes. That works out to be about 8.5 12oz beers. In the end Matt and Pat got through 8 beers while Justin and I only got to about 6.

That was my best effort, in the past I was always drunk when I decided to try it so I would only make it about 30 minutes.  We followed up the Century Club attempt with a marathon game of Asshole. I wont go into that because it takes to long to explain. It has cards and requires a lot of alcohol consumption.

Oh and Matt if you are reading this, SINGLES ON SINGLES, DOUBLES ON DOUBLES motherf*&^%@.

The house we rented was pretty cool (thanks Justin for getting it squared away). It has a pool table so a number of doubles and cut throat games were played.

On Saturday Stu and Jimmy hit the trail and rode down to Frisco. The rest of us waited lazily until they got back so we could go play paintball. Unfortunately it started raining so when we got to paintball they were closed. Fortunately though, there was a bar close by that had foosball. So we drank and played Foos and Pool at the bar for a few hours.

After that, back to the house, more drinking, more pool, and time to grill. Cooked up some NY Strips, corn, beans and som garlic bread. The grille was pretty much on fire (literally) during the cooking process but for the most part everything turned out good.

After a viewing of Grandmas boy it was time for Poker. A little Texas Hold ‘em. My strategy was to go out early so I could focus on my drinking and it worked perfectly. I was out in about 20 hands. Ok, it wasn’t a strategy, but it sounded good right?

Our drinking skills onSaturday night were sub-par. Everyone was pretty beat from drinking the night before and the huge dinner probably didn’t help much with the alcohol consumption. So we decided to watch Team America: World Police.

While not a super action packed adventure it was nice to get away for a few days and hang out with everyone again. Hopefully next year we can make it even better, maybe even add on a day.

I didn’ take very many pictures, I think like 5 or 6. Not really anything to take a picture of anyway. I will post them up tonight or something.
