Newscasters make an assload of money

I was reading an article today about a local news co-anchor that did not get their contract renewed. They listed the salary at $400K. The other anchor that co-anchored with them, $500K.

So what you’re telling me, is all I need to do is read a script, do a little investigative work and look decent on TV and you will pay me half a million dollars a year?

Why the hell did I choose my line of work?

9news does it again….

Not only did they bust into the 10pm news into right when Obama was giving his speech their website just displayed the following, please look at all the headlines and the time and date on the page.

It’s over, thank God!

Well there’s no need to announce what the world already knows. Thankfully, no more mud slinging ads, no more knocks on the door, or junk mail.

We the people did our duty by voting (or not). Whether the candidate each person voted for won or not is not what’s important now. What’s important is, as McCain said in his speech this evening, that we put aside any differences to work together to make this a better place.

Easier said than done without a doubt, and our president elect has quite road ahead of him. It wont take long to see if he is going to sink or swim. Obviously, what any American wants to see is the success and growth of this nation and the people.

Tomorrow is a new day, in three months Obama will take his oath and hopefully lead this nation out the hole and help us rise up.

The last thing I want to mention, online, in the streets, in the office I have heard a lot of heated debates and pretty nasty remarks about political parties and the people representing those parties. Remember, they too are Americans, they too are human beings. Everyone should be treated with the same dignity and respect as the next person. If you don’t feel the same way, then maybe you are living in the wrong country.

Cheers to Obama on his victory, he is our president elect and I will support him as our president just as I would had McCain won.

Don’t forget to vote

as if you could miss all the ads on TV and radio, the people standing on street corners, phone calls, home visits, etc etc etc.

I dropped off my mail in ballot this morning. I am no longer undecided. I only hope, regardless of who is our next President that they, in fact, think about the current situation with this country, and how to make us better going forward.

Neither candidate should expect to fulfill their plan, just focus on fixing what is broken, and hopefully being remembered as the “fixer.”

Anyway, enough about that, it’s your right, exercise it, that way no matter what the outcome you can at least say you did your part and voiced your choice.

Mark Wahlberg is a douche

If you can’t laugh at yourself….

I think SNL has had some of the best skits by doing thing that make absolutely no sense. Keep in mind, he is making fun of Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch lest you forget. It would be one thing if MW were an A-List actor that commanded the respect of every SAG carrying member, but the reality is he is a one dimensional actor.

He plays the same guy in every role, and if he were to talk to animals, I bet that is exactly how it would go.

Oh and Marky Mark, even all the crappy movies you’ve been in, none are quite as crappy as Hot Rod, so you have that going for you.
